The 1986 film Crossroads stars Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid) as a guitar playing genius. Near the start of the film he's in a classical guitar class - does anyone know what tune he's playing? He plays a fancy version on electric guitar later in the film as well. Thanks in advance!

Could it be....

Eugene's Trick Bag, the updated classical piece at the climax of the film, which is largely based on Niccolo Paganini's Caprice #5.
I found this:

The piece he plays in his dorm room and at the end of the movie is loosely
based on Paganini's 5th Caprice for violin.
You can hear it on the classical guitar played by Eliot Fisk at www.amazon.com.

The Turkish Rondo by Mozart was played by Eugene for his teacher in the begining of the movie.
It is a well known arrangement for the classical guitar by William Kanengiser
who was also listed as the Classical Guitar Coach in the credits.
You can get the Turkish Rondo played by Kanengiser here

You can get the musical scores for either piece from Guitar Solo's printed catalogue.
