Can anyone name this film or show???

I have tried to find the name of this film for years and have always watched Logan's run expecting to see the bit I remember.

The film or show was similar to Logan's run in the dying at 30 but didn't have anything on palms of hands that I remember.

the bit I remember is a guy who is thirty is to be killed but he has fallen in love with the princess of the place and although she is thirty she doesnt need to die. Even though they are in love her paretns insist that he must die. the way people die n this is to jump into a volcano pit type thing and the girl - the princess is so devastated at what her parents are wanting that she jumps into the volcano or pit of fire to save him

any Ideas please help as it has bugged me for years

I think Peter Ustinov was in that film I am certain it was Logans Run

I don't think that it is Logan's Run. In that one two people escaped the enclosed city and into the old London. There they find an old man and take him back to the city.

Yes that old man was Played by Peter Ustinov. And he was in Logans Run

There was also a Logans Run TV series, maybe it was that?
