Name of a film

Has anyone ever seen an american film, I think made for tv about an alien invasion, but it was done in the style of a news broadcast all the way through. It had the anchor man explaining that the aliens where using asteroids to destroy mankind. i only seen the last ten mins, but would love to get hold of this movie. Does anyone out there know the name of it. P.S. i know they used asteroids in Starshiip trooper, but its not that.
