Since it happened live, does anyone have the tv recording? Is it available anywhere? Who has seen it?

I witnessed it on TV; "live" as it were, and just remember it being...very curious. He sort-of collapsed backwards extremely slowly. The commercial break was coming up anyway, so we (my parents and I) thought it was his act's "sign off", and I distinctly remember us all looking at each other in a very puzzled fasion. They didn't mention on the programme at the time that he'd died , but of course it was all over the news later. And I was pretty sad 'cos I love(d) Tommy Cooper. He was the first "celebrity" I ever saw in concert (Skegness '73!). It was a weird feeling knowing someone had expired before your eyes.
I saw it too, just as ScreaminTree describes. It was sad, he used to make me laugh as soon as I saw him, before he did anything, he had such an expressive face.
I watched it too and was also puzzled as to why he'd ended the act hat way...the curtain was pulled around him and everything was going on as normal. After the break nothing was said but I think that is how he wanted to go...on stage
I went to see him record a TV show many years ago.

He came out for the warm up and did a few jokes and tricks.

One I remember was when he got out a pack of cards and asked lady in the audience to take one, look at it, then put it back.

He showed her one card and said is this it. No she replied.

He tried a few more cards, which were all wrong.

He then just threw the whole pack at her and said "well you find it then"

Brought the place down.
I remember watching TC with my mum the night he died. As he finished his act he seemed to crumble then they brought the curtain down. My mother said calmly " Oh he's dying or dead" We all loved Tommy, one of the best.
