If a death occurs on telly (in a soap etc) before the"watershed" is the person allowed to die with their eyes open?

Am sure have seen a death in a show where the eyes are still open. The watershed doesn't mean a great deal these days with the things that are allowed on the soaps now.

The alcohol advert where the man falls off the scaffold is a bit creepy, when he opens his eyes when he's lying on the ground. Do they show that before 9?

In an article in Radio Times about the death of Honey Harman in The Bill recently it was stated that you are not allowed to die with your eyes open before the watershed.It didn't say how long that rule has been in operation,though.

Pardon my ignorance but...and i don't mean this in a harsh way.....why does it matter about whether eyes are open? I have never heard this before.

On a related topic, here in USA, for a PG 13 rated movie, eg James Bond, any killings cannot have blood showing!!! If there's blood then its a higher rating.
