80's kids TV show

There is an 80's kids TV show that I used to watch when I was a kid, and very few people seem to remember it, and I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it. It was a programme where there was a guy that dressed up in a green monster outfit, he had a lady assistant, and they used to plant an egg (looked like a multi-coloured foiled mini easter egg!) into a plant pot and what ever was in the egg used to come out on the tree. Does any-one remember this show and the name of it?

I've never been able to remember the name of this programme and I used to watch it all the time. Even my mum couldn't remember it and she used to watch them all with me. I thought I'd dreamt it!

I'm so glad that this question was on here!!! My friend sent me an 80's quiz with childrens shows on and i remembered this one but couldn't for the life of me think of it's name!!!
