I love this show, but, i can't help thinking that rather than teaching people how to avoid being scammed, it is more likely to be teaching the criminal new tricks...

for every 10 people who are saved from being conned, probably a hundred are conned by a criminal who has learnt how because of this show.

not only do they show you the con, they explain and demonstrate how its done!

this show is on bbc3 and is probably not watched by most people, even if it was on primetime bbc1 it would still not be seen by many people.

i am not suggesting it is banned, i just wondered if any one else thought the same thing?

cheers

I've thought exactly the same myself. Some of the scams I have see, I sat there thinking 'Wow, that's a good idea!' - not that I would ever dream of carrying any of them out, I'm sure there are people that will!
I've never seen it but I've thought the same thing about other types of programmes.
(I mean other programmes of a similar type to this one!)
I've always thought that too!
yeah i've often thought that, i still can't believe how gullible some people are though, the one where she posed as a bar maid and went round the pub asking people for fivers and tenners as they had run out of change and people just gave it to her!!!!!!
Jess is the only good thing about this show, the other two are just too smug and up there own ar@es, i think its fixed anyway, how can there be so many Cameras in places and not be seen?
I agree completelty. Once saw a programme (can't remember which one though!) telling us how JCB's were getting started with a bent nail. Jeremy Clarkeson (I think), then proceeded to demonstrate just how to do it! It's a mad world...
Again, I've often wondered this too! Love the programme though, very interesting! I would be fooled in so many of the cons they do!

I don't think it's fixed - don't think the people getting conned know what's going on, and I would imagine they probably film alot of other people who don't fall for it, or spot cameras etc, but obviously they wouldn't show those.
