Lily Allen's post on Myspace
18 Answers
The singer and songwriter Lily Allen posted a tearful confession on her Myspace page detailing how she felt fat, ugly and was considering plastic surgery. Her feelings were brought on by a combination of hurtful comments from Cheryl Cole and comparisons to Kate Moss. She apologised for worrying fans and said later she actually felt proud of her achievements and how lucky she was to have the life she had. What do you think? Would you wind up in a deep depression if you were in Lily Allen's shoes? Was it wrong of her to put a self pitying post on her Myspace so adoring fans could see how 'hard' her life is?

Now, whether or not it was actually him, she knows how hurtful comments can be.... if I were Lilly Allen I might just have retorted "my phones on vibrate - leave a message"... I bet that would have shut her up.
However this is all publicity and all thoes involved are desperate for it, good or bad, it's the celebirity culture.

Oh dear - I feel sorry for the spoilt, rich, coke addicted daughter of a man who's been in the media for many years, she must have been really surprised when she courted fame and found it wasn't what she thought. She must be so naive to think her cry for help is just another publicity seeking exercise.
We should all weep buckets for here !!

Winding up in deep depression is utterly unconnected with anyone's lifestyle and wealth - or lack of it.
Depression is a mental illness, and the rich and succesful are as prone to it as the poor and ugly. I personally think Lilly Allen is gorggeous, but it's not my opinion, or anyone's opinion that matters to her - it's her self-perception that governs how she feels about herself.
So - let's not assume that she should be 'grateful', but perhaps feel a little empathy for a young woman hwo is maybe having some difficulty with the pressures of life - which can happen to any of us at any time.

Andy, whilst I totally agree with your point, this is playground he-said-she said rubbish. Both these young women know better.
If you bring your personal feelings into the public arena, you should know people will attack you for them, it's sadly incredibly common to pick on other peoples weaknesses. If I personally was having a really tough time, I would turn to my closest family and friends for support, certainly not to the media, who we all know can love you one min and villify you the next!

Big Ted - She was thrown out of a nightclub as the bouncer caught her doing a few lines in the toilet cubicle. She went home and her Dad Keith Allen went down to club and remonstrated with them for throwing her out - when told about the coke - Keith Allen shouted - I've being doing coke in here for years and you never threw me out !
I disagree totally with the opinion that she has no talent whatsoever - I think she is a fine and sassy songwriter (unlike Cheryl Cole), and much more intelligent than the chav image she portrays (unlike Cheryl Cole).
That said, it might do her some good to keep her insulting views on others to herself. It might be part of the image, but it seems to have come back to bite her on the bum. Fat, ugly, talentless? Not at all. Bit of a mouthy cow? Certainly.

Is this the same Lily Allen who took it upon herself to publically slag off one of the greatest females artists off all time (Madonna)? As for being talented, can she actually sing because everything I've heard her do she talks. Oooohhhh a girl with a famous dad talks over some bland music whoppee. Lets see where she is in 2 years time musically, probably on a world tour with Gareth Gates.
when lily allen first had her hit with smile, i really liked her ,then she started doing interviews slagging everyone off ,saying maddona was past it and over rated ,charlotte church was fat etc etc ,and i soon started to dislike her and her mouth ,in 10 years time we ask the question lily who? she will be a forgotten little has been, do i feel sorry for her ? an emphatic NO !! there is a saying that springs to mind -people that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones
