It had such potential with a kinda good story line and they ruined it!
Why???? - I mean first the whole Kate Beckinsale and her reflection even though she is a vampire. Then the fact a few 'days' go by but no light and not one of the vampires feed during the film??? - Any views?

I agree, it had a lot of potential. But for me it dragged on way too long without much happening. There wasn't much point showing daylight as they would all have been at home and tucked up in bed. The idea of Vamps Vs Werewolfs was pretty cool but they didnt really do too much with it.

Have to agree, great potential completely wasted. It was far too long and far too slow, most of the interesting scenes seem to have been included in the trailer. I think they tried to invest it with too much 'fact', they tried to introduce science to what is essentially mythology and failed miserably. It was far too long, for the first part of the film I felt like I had walked in the middle of something else, there was too much back story which was actually far more interesting and should have been explored some more. Then for the second half of the film I felt like they were preparing for the sequel. It started to get interesting towards the end when the action started and various betrayals started to unravel but then it ended on what seems to have been a clear indicator that a sequel was in the offing.

A wasted opportunity, and not a film that I would bother watching again. However, if Kate Beckinsale is in the sequel and her outfits remain in the same style, I might be tempted to give it a go...
