Dr Who just keeps getting better and better. Thought they couldn't top last week's, but I'll bet there's a generation of kids that won't be able to look at a statue in the same way after tonight!

just remembered didnt they say that someone started a dvd shop 20 years ago ?!
No, no-one said anything about starting a DVD shop in the 1980's.

I think you may be remembering that Billy ( the policeman who got sent back to 1969 ) said in his hospital bed that he moved into publishing, then video production and then on to DVD ( which is how he planted the Doctor's messages as DVD Easter Eggs ).
Kathy, the girl sent to Hull around 80 years ago, said in a letter to Sally, that her brother works in a DVD shop, so that Sally could find him and tell him Kathy wouldn't be coming home.
that was it ! as she died 20 years ago i believe.
In the last episode when the doctor and Martha get stuck in the 1960's and have to wait for 40 years for the policeman to meet Sally in the hospital would Martha not age just as the policeman did?
Hi ytrewq - remember that although the policeman had to live through the 40 years, the tardis was sent back in time for the Doctor and Martha, so to them it was only a short period in 1969. (I think - ooohhh my head hurts!!)
Question Author
that's the tricky thing about time travel. They would've had to wait 40 years for the tardis to get there, as it took 40 years for Sally to get to the tardis. But that would be instantly cancelled by the arrival of the tardis in the 60s, as would any interaction they had with the world in that 40 years.
And you think YOUR head is wrecked...?
The Doctor was sent back in time when he meets the Weeping Angels ( possibly a year from now ) so is separated from TARDIS ( where it is found outside the house and removed by the police and put in their storage ).
The Doctor has already by this time been given the information of Sally's encounter with the Angels in the house ( Sally gave the information to the Doctor at the end of the episode, a year from now, but that is before the Doctor is sent back to 1969 ).
In order for the Doctor to have TARDIS sent back to him in 1969, he lays clues for Sally based on the notes she gives him.
The DVD that Sally's friend's brother has with him also includes instructions for TARDIS to travel to 1969, so that the Doctor and Martha won't have to wait 38 years.
We all enjoyed the episode and had several family members round to watch, the best bit for me was when my 9year old son was hiding behind a cushion and when he moved it my husband was stood in front of him posing like a statue, oh how my son squeeled, that is the fun of Dr Who it appeals to every one and the best bit Captain Jack is back next week.
wish i had watched the last one - sounds good.
I, however, thought that Dr Who has getting worse!! I got hooked from "the girl at the fireplace" (or whatever it was called...) and i cried at the finale but i havnt enjoyed this season as much!
RockChick - it's repeated on BBC3, Friday, 9 pm.
bring on the barrowman!
Whickerman - they would not have had 40 years of interaction from 1969 because the tardis was sent back in time. To them it would have arrived almost immediately.
but they still would of had to leave the clues or else it wouldnt of?? :()
