Im trying to find the name of a film I saw about teb years ago while at school. It was based mainly in the Scottish Highlands, but also had bits in London I think. The basic story was about man who looks after an otter at his houses in London and Scotland. It had a very moving ending and I would love to be able to gt it on video or DVD, if anyone knows what I'm talking about let me know.
this will be 'Ring of Bright Water' (1969). go here. http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0064893/
you'll see from the links on the right that it's available on both VHS and DVD.
the saddest fim ever made - I saw it as a child and was really upset by it. I wouldn't watch it again for years and years and then a couple of years ago I was flicking round the channels and just switched over to catch the exact moment when Midge is killed - I was immediately in floods of tears again, and am feeling all choked up now (and I am not an animal lover at all). Good luck with getting it on dvd!
Yeah, too sad for words...I've only watched it once, NEVER again! Just thinking about it makes me sad. Written by one of Robert Maxwells sons (bizarrely enough!)....think it's semi-autobiogrpahical, based on his time living in the Scottish Highlands.
