Top of my list would be Austin Powers. I am proud to say I have never seen this mince or any of its sequels. The trailers were bad enough. How about you? What stinkers have you avoided?

Ishtar.....a whistling bomb of a movie by all accounts.
monkey bone, biggest bit of cr#p ever.
I'm quite proud of avoiding the two recent Tom Cruise films, Vanilla Sky and Minority Report, despite being asked by several different groups of friends to go. They came back and said they were rubbish, vindicating my decision to go down the pub instead!
Must say though: Austin Powers - fantastic!
Haven't seen Vanilla Sky but surely any movie that has a female star saying, and I quote from the film here, "I swallowed your come...that must mean something" has to have at least one laught in it?
After my sphincter-clenching experience at the hands of 'Four Weddings & A Load Of Over-Acting', I've managed to avoid any film with the 'keep-away at all costs' tag 'Starring Hugh Grant', and any film with the 'you will loathe this' warning 'feel-good movie' - which all adds up to grateful avoidance of 'Love, Actually'.
I am particularly proud to be able to say that i have never seen a star wars movie in my life. Not the original versions nor the modern remakes.

i have also only ever watched one of the James bond films (dont remember what one) and was so unimpressed that ive never watched another.
lmao sft42! i haven't seen titanic or love nausiatingly. 4 hours of my life i didn't lose at the cinema ;)
I saw enough of "thirteen" which has been released recently on DVD, I walked out of the cinema before it got any worse.
Bridget Jones Diary and Love Actually are films I can very easily avoid not seeing!!
Oh and Lord of the Rings!!!! That is definitely top of my list (Harry Potter following) I wouldn't be paid to sit and suffer through hours of Lord of the Rings
I'm a firm believer in NOT passing judgement on any film/book or whatever until you've seen/read or whatever is in question. You never know you might be pleasantly surprised, but how can you criticise what you don't know.
I totally agree with Molly, most of you people are just avoiding them on a backwards principle, when really the film might be quite good.

I thought Vannilla Sky was awesome, one of the first films I bought on DVD. It's a very deep film for me, and something I can watch numerous times.

I liked Austin Powers also, mainly because of the Christmas special of "The Office" where Brent dresses up like Austin Powers and is made the fool.
(Molly and savage monkey) Yes, but it is down to personal opinion. If tartanwiz is not into silly 'mick take' films, then i certainly know why Austin Powers was well avoided!!
Yes but then claim the GENRE of "mick take" films is bad, not that film inparticular.

If I was to say "I do not like action movies", that would be okay. If I was to say "I do not like Mission Impossible" without seeing the movie, I feel that would be wrong.
Well said SavageMonkey.

Dear Molly and Savagemonkey. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. I once saw a trailer in the cinema for a dreadful-looking Britcom film starring Cannon & Ball (remember them? 'Rock on Tommy!' ) as policemen. 'The Boys in Blue', it was called. Not only did I not go and see it, but I don't think anyone else did either, because I've never heard anything of it since. Are you trying to tell me that if I had given it a chance I might have found it to be a hilarious and clever piece of modern comedy? I think not.
I'm not sure that's what they ment... I also don't really fancy Austin Powers but, a film that grosses as much as that one did can't be described as "bad". We're just not the right audience. Same comment goes for the earlier poss abotu LOTR and Star Wars. They're not bad films (if they were they wouldn't be the most succesful film series in history) but, i can see why some people wouldn't like them. Theres a fien line here soemwhere!

My original question was intended to start a lighthearted thread. It's getting a bit serious now. Let's hear more examples of films you're proud to say you've avoided. In the end it's a matter of opinion, but so what?
