Does anyone know the name of the sketch where he is a Bishop or similar religous figure and he is being carried along on a thrown type thing but everytime he gets lifted up the steps he falls out of it? I remember seeing it one xmas when there was a tribute to him, was hillarious but haven't been able to find it since? TIA

Don't know were you find the name of individual sketches but I remember watching the Dave Allen at Large series which ran for about 30 shows and these always included a series of runnung sketches, one of which was about the "Pope" being carried about on his thrown by four men and the various situates he got into. Dave did a great show, usually not PC. often irreverent, always funny yet some how never particularly offensive (to the majority, that is) it was definatly most see TV in the crowd I hung with at the time

Thanks paddywak, I had never heard of Dave Allen until I saw the tribute which my dad made me watch. But I'm glad he did as I thought he was very funny and original.
