Toffee apples?
450g demerara sugar
1 tspn malt vinegar
4 tblspn golden syrup
50g butter
Dissolve sugar in 4fl oz water over a moderate heat ( 10 mins) stir in the vinegar,syrup and butter, bring to the boil and let the mixture bubble for 15-20 mins.Drop a little into a bowl of cold water- if ready it will form a hard ball. Enough for 6 apples.
