he is under contract to the bbc and so he does not get a specific fee, why are people so mean about the guy he is harmless

Actually dot he has received a specific fee from the BBC for hosting the charity event every year since since 1980 (�9,065 in 2005) but announced a few days ago that this year he will waive said fee.

Interesting to note that he has only agreed to waive his fee since it became public knowledge that he got paid for it.

However, i thought to myself last night that TW looked very uneasy and maybe a little out of place hosting last nights show? perhaps it may of been his last one i feel as a major host, perhaps they will bring someone else in and have TW do a smaller role?

Why did he only waive his fee? - why didnt he donate it to Children In need instead? The BBC would probably only keep it anyway.
