Going by stars given and the arty farty film critics guides etc. I would have to conclude that Dr Stranglove has to be one of them. I simply do not get the hype of the film. It is, in my humble opinion, poorly acted, poorly shot and just boring.
Others will include
Lawrence of Arabia (good but not great) El Marachi (just boring if you ask me) Titanic (all those Oscars?????) Ghandi (good, but one viewing is all you need) Crouching Tiger (what a load of poppyc0ck)
Am I right in my depiction and can you think of any more overrated stuff that the text books insist are essential viewing?
i agree, I like Tarantino, but I would argue that From Dusk till Dawn was the best. Just my opinion tho. Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction are class. I don't like Titanic either and, horror of horrors, Dirty Dancing - what a pile of *****.
Armageddon, only good thing in it was the soundtrack and The Bodyguard, can't stand old Whitney and thought her version of the song in it was appalling, not a patch on Dolly!
It's A Wonderful Life - what a load of old she-height.
I was told this was a great movie to watch by the girls at work so I bought the DVD before Christmas and watched it on Christmas Eve. What a let down.
I then had to watch Home Alone to get me back in to the Christmas mood. Twice.
