what is funny about Jam & Jerusalem?

This is supposed to be a comedy, isn't it? I sit through it without even a half-smile. But then I usually do with Jennifer Saunders' material. Can anyone out there explain what is funny or even remotely good about it?

There is nothing funny about this programme.
The BBC think that everything involving French & Saunders is brilliant but it's not. They are not funny.
Hopefully the viewing figures will be poor and then it won't get commissioned for another series.
Meanwhile, watch another channel.

I watched it tonight because quite frankly there are a lack of shows that include people that talk like me. I caught one episode before which had an amusing joke in it so I thought I would give it another go, I don't think its meant to be hilarious, it's friday night viewing for fogies, the other channels cater to a different age group on a friday night.
I actually think Dawn French's charater in it is bloody brilliant.

Any time you hear the phrase 'subtle' or 'gentle' used for a comedy, it normally means 'not very funny' (see Last of the Summer Wine or As Time Goes By for further evidence - IMHO of course).
I don't like Jam and Jerusalem either. Even my slightly disturbing Sally Phillips fixation can't persuade me to bother watching it. As for Eastenders, I don't watch that either!
