Has anyone seen this? I've heard it explains the film more, what does it reveal in the extra scenes? (not talking about the original, or the extra DVD scenes but the new one version out). I have read the websites but wondered what explanation the new version reveals

The director's cut (the 'full' version of the film) is going to be shown in cinemas soon, but I'm not sure when. Look out for it in your local cinema.

Thanks i knew that. But my question was, has anyone already seen it through any means?
Yes, I've seen it. It was given away fre in the Sunday Times magazine last week. it's very very good.
With regards to this movie, c'mon, its rubbish and you are all pretending to like it. Okay the jokes over, like Lost in Translation (subtle? no, * * * * * * * * more like) Donnie Darko has gathered an undeserved cult status. Seriously take a good look at it. It is self indulgent pretentious drivel, and no, its not that I dont understand it, its because its not entertaining!! Geddit. The acting is trite and wooden, schoolkids?? Jake Gyllenhall looks about 30 in it. The story is patchy and full of holes, deliberate, to hide the dogy screenplay and time frame of the plot. Anyway, I have already rented too much headspace to this film. Its mince.
