As these are all obviously huge influences on the general public- WHY don't the writers use their powers to bring about positive changes.....? eg. Get Dot to stop smoking- or change the 'unemployed-on-benefit culture to include DSS 'swoops' to catch them out.....? AND see them all into new (or even first-time) jobs???

Because Eastenders has to be depressing. It just wouldn't be Eastenders with too many nice storylines. I don't always watch it when they get too much violence in it. i.e Phil Mitchell. He needs a good kicking from someone.

Yeah- they are ALL pretty depressing aren't they? That's why I'd rather watch a good documentary anytime.....-Fact is better than fiction..... Here's a link to "The Untold Story" in case any one missed it.
