It was when the 'Goodness Gracious Me' team first performed the 'Going for an English' sketch. However, it was still incredibly funny when the programme transferred across to TV.

Mine is silly, I was watching an episoe of Frasier a couple of months back and it was the one where Daphne goes into labour at the vet surgery. There was a woman there with her monkey who was a nurse and offered assistance.
After Daphne gave birth, the nurse asked Niles to hold her monkey for her, he has the monkey in his hands jst as Frasier, his his Dad (John?) and Ros appear, Niles says "Oh, glad you could make itm but she's already given birth", at which those 3 look at the monkey and then Niles.
I don't know why, I found it hilarious, so much so that my stomach ached with laughter.
Hey ho LOL

I note that everybody is suggesting comedy. Can I also nominate a superb moment in TV history when a comedy programme finished on a sombre note? I'm thinking of the way that the final episode of 'Black Adder Goes Forth' ended with them all 'going over the top' and ended in silence, with red poppy leaves falling.

For me it was the Harry Enfield show and Mr Cholmondley-Warner presents 'The Conjugal Rights Guide'. I love it!

I was going to mention "My Family" Booster Girl. I think it is the only show worth mentioning in recent years.
Love the bit when Benm (Robert Lindsay) is hiding naked in his bath when his daughter is having a party and her friends walk in.
And
Black Adder "You look as guilty as a puppy standing next to a pile of doggy poo"

Black Adder goes forth is very sad for me as my Great Grandfather was amongst the first Officers to be killed during the Somme.
Of the four series (and the few one offs) it is probably the only one that actually tells a social message.
The funniest part of which was when Baldrick makes coffee and shakes his dandruff on top!!!
Oh, and when they ate the Kings' messager pigeon!!!

Yes, it is not of the calibre of OFAH, Fawlty Towers etc, but name one single show that is remotely funny in recent times??
I quite like some of Cahterine tate and Little Britain, but sitcom wise there is nowt!!!!
My Family is passable in my comedy opinion.
As for Les Dawson, I recall him on Blankety Blank with a suitable chuckle on my face.
