I don't often watch it but today's finished result was probably one of the worst I'd seen, ugh!...there's no way I could live with that. I only saw the last 30 mins & I gather it was the wife who'd been ill but what had been stopping that great hulk of a husband doing the diy? :o)
nope, although it needs a makeover, I wouldn't want my house done in 60 mins!
I saw this prog today for the first time - I thought the result was awful. Also, did you notice of all the new carpets they put down they only had underlay on the landing - surely the carpet won't last long without underlay? I agree with Octavius, I doubt that it would be very good quality or last very long.
Also, Teri Dwyer was so busy running round shouting at everyone that she seemed to just be getting in the way. She was bl00dy rude to those kitchen fitters but was stood on the floor they wanted to put flooring down on!
Never in a million years would I let anybody in my home to do a makeover, whether it be 60 miniutes or 60 years. A home to me is a place that evolves over the years. It is one place that our family have put together and represents us. It is one place that I feel I have put my stamp on and I am completely at ease in. To have people coming in and commenting on our home would just freak me out.
I do watch makeover and property shows with interest though and often think that the true meaning of 'home' has been lost. Homes shouldn't be a showpiece.
