Does anyone know how to save youtube clips on your computer?
Whenever I save a clip in my playlist and click to activate it always has to buffer and play from online.

copy the URL from youtube

then go to www.keepvid.com

paste the video URL in the white box at the top and click download

it wl then give you a grey box underneath saying "download" and a possible choice of file type.

Click download

job done

Yes, whickerman - I've been using the 'new' RealPlayer for some time.

Very easy to use. And I transfer them to .wmv with VLC,so they play on my Zen.

Ethel - this might sound retarded, but how do you convert to .wmv using VLC? Never really used it properly

I find vixy.net good because you can save it in what ever format you like straight from there. If you only want the audio then you can do that.

Whickers, it seems complicated but it really isn't. Print these instructions off for reference the first few times, but you will soon get the hang of it. And the quality really is good (depending on the the YouTube quality of course):

1. Open VLC and browse to file.

2. Start playing - then press Stop.

3. File - Wizard

4. It will give you a pop-up �Streaming/Transcoding Wizard�.
Select Transcode/Save to file and Click Next.

5. Select Existing PlayList Item, highlight the .flv and click Next

6. In the next screen, Select Transcode Video and from the drop down box choose WMV3 (this has highest quality, though the output of the file may differ as per the original .flv file)

7. Select Transcode Audio and from the drop down box choose MP3 (for the quality to be higher, leave it at the default bitrate of 192) and click Next.

8. choose �ASF� as the �Encapsulation Format� and click Next.

9. You will be asked to select the file to save to, click �Choose� and browse to the folder where you want your new file to be saved.

10: !!!Important!!! Type in the file name in the �File� field with the extension of .WMV (example, lytebyte.wmv)

11. Click Finish.
