Anybody out there old enough to remember Eamonn Andrews introducing Crackerjack? If so, what did you get in 'Double or Drop' if you got a question wrong? Wikipedia says a cabbage, but I'm pretty sure it was a cauliflower.

Or is my memory playing tricks?

Definitely a Cabbage.

Thanks for that. Elsewhere it says cabbage, but are my eyes deceiving me here? The girl who looks like Valerie Singleton in the second picture down is holding what looks to me very much like a cauliflower. Perhaps they did both over the years?

I see what you mean but I can only remember a Cabbage.
I am sure it was cauliflowers, and in those days the kids knew the difference!!
I imagine it may have changed occasionally, probably due to what was available in Shepherds Bush Market.

For the most part though, I think it tended to be cabbage.
I only remember cabbages. . .maybe that girl WON a cauliflower!!

This gets stranger and stranger. I reckon that in my days of watching, when Eamonn Andrews was presenting in the late 50's and early 60's, it was cauliflowers.

Sometime after that they must have changed it. That's the only thing I can think of.

Thanks all for your interest
Just be thankful it wasn't a tin of peas.....imagine the pain when that dropped on your foot!!!
they where always called a cabbage regardless of what they actually where.
crackerjack!!!!!
it's Friday - it's five to five - its CRACKERJACK!! I think it was a cabbage.. but then again ...
