Countdown without Carol!

According to todays papers Carol Vorderman has quit Countdown, both her and Des going
I liked Carol she was professional and has a good personality although her dress sense was something else! Who will take over does it have to be a maths genius or just someone good with figures! Rory Bremner is rumoured to take over from Des, maybe he could combine the two by impersonating Carol!

Programme died quite a bit when Whitely did, it wont last without Carol.

Time for channel 4 to move on and the people in tv lounges in old people's homes all over the country will have to try Flog It instead.

They recorded five episodes of Countdown a day : there were about 48 weeks of Countdown a year : the contestants probably failed to solve about one numerical poblem in six, requiring Carol's help (which wasn't always forthcoming, even on those problems where an answer was possible) : and for this 48 days "work" they paid her about a million pounds a year! Her other contributions to the programme were negative and annoying.She should be grateful for what she has received, and stop complaining because they have at last admitted that she is obsenely overpaid.

Countdown has an audiance which is made up of people who have watched it religiously for over 20 years. A lot of them are of the older generation. This means they don't much like change.
I didn't like Whitely or Vorderman. They were both very fake.
Whitely was a sour puss. When one guy came up with the W*nker every one else laughed out loud and took it in good humour. Not Whitely. He sat there with looking like a sour grape.
He never did have much of a sense of humour.
I watch it more now than when he was in it.

Agree devonian she is grossly overpaid along with numerous "celebrities" they are not happy unless they are paid in milliions, think of all the nurses and all hard working people who have to put up with their lot! Carol has been doing a lot of whinging recenlty but she'll not be stuck for work. Loads of "celebrities" in the queue for the job.
