70's spooky/horror series

Can you tell me the title of a series of horror style TV progs in the 70's. There were about 6 of them in the series. Two stick in my mind. One was about a little girl in a lonely house in the country surrounded by what looked like standing stones. Whenever she fell asleep she dreamt that the stones had come alive and were slowly moving closer to 'get her'. Eventually they are so close she know that if she falls asleep tonight they will reach her. Scary stuff! The other involved a couple in a house when hundreds of rats appear and slowly start taking over the house. They have to move higher and higher to escape them. As you can see, I can remember the stories but not the titles or the series. Can you help?

I asked the same question and got this reply. Look up Escape into The Night...# Was it not Escape Into The Night? A young girl ill in bed. She would draw something and end up dreaming what she drew. As I recall she drew a lighthouse and a crippled boy. She drew rocks which came to life hopalong Sat 28/08/04

The one with the girl in bed dreaming about the stones getting closer left a real impression on me a a kid I've nevr forgotten it and periodically wondered what the hell it was called too! I'll follow Hopalongs advice and have a looky...

Thanks for that hopalong. I appreciate your quick reply. It certainly sounds like what I remember although I thought it was part of a series not a series in itself. I'll put that down to faulty memory. Can anyone help on the other story with the rats?

If I remember correctly, that sounds very much like the Hammer House of Horror

Crikey, I've managed to answer my own question. Just goes to show how useful this site is. It activates previously dormant brain cells. The tv series with the rats I have been trying to remember was called "Beasts" and featured 6 episodes of horror stories featuring different animals.
