I have to confirm puddicat's point.
I once went out with a girl who was seriously gorgeous - I mean, pubs went quiet when we walked in as guys gawped at her, and then at me wondering how Mr Average Woody Allen-esque me had pulled a goddess like her! Long story - blind date, but that's by the way.
The point is, after a fewq months, I 'got used' to how gorgeous she was. i really liked her a lot, and we went out for over a year, but eventually I was not longer smitten by how gorgeous she was, but I still noticed other people's first reactions to her.
I think if we had not got on as people, it wouldn't have lasted like it did - there has to be something beyond looks (especially in me for her!) otherwise nothing is going to work.
