80's TV show - tiger t-shirt

there was an 80's tv show with a boy with a tiger emblem on his t shirt that gave him incredible strength. I think some crooks were always after the t shirt and he had to evade them? can anyone help please?

I remember it, he could run really fast when he was wearing it and at the end he was in a school race and he did not have the t shirt and he won anyway. Moralistic approach that if you try you do not need material help. I can't remember the name tho!! darn!
