On the episode of the family on 24th September 2008 the mother and daughter were dancing to a version of " somewhere over the rainbow" does anyone know who this version of the song was sung by.

Probably the late Eva Cassidy, her's is the version most commonly heard in recent years

Didn't watch it, but another possibility is that hawaiian bloke, Israel kamikaze (or something tlike that). It's combined with "what a wonderful world" and is just as well heard as EC

How strange that you should ask this morning as I too love the song since hearing it on The Family.
The singer is Israel IZ Kamakawiwo'ole He was Hawaian and was grossly obese and died 11 years ago.His CD with the song on is called Facing The Future but there are some lovely other songs on the CD.I went into HMV this morning and it was �17 but my daughter is getting it through play.com on the internet for me for �12.99.Cant wait to play it .
