why do people like russell brand even get on tv?... someone tell me.. what does he possibly have to offer to television viewers...?
talent-less piece of cr@p!, i guess because everyone (points at everyone) is sad and finds people and things like him amusing.
tv for me is only good for a few reasons ; the good dvds i buy/rent, documentaries on nature and animals.
russell brand couldnt get laid so he had to fake it.
loser.

The media plays a major role in shaping future generations and consequently should set moral standards. Or in future we are going to breed more and more Russell Brands, Jonathan Ross's and the rest. Who are frankly talentless overpaid chavs who have milked the gravy train offered to them by hedonistic directors and the like who revel in obscenities on TV. Sorry if I have gone on a bit but I have been sick of these kinda guys/girls for years. Sadly I don't think this is the end of this kind of behaviour on TV
Just to correct you slightly Criminal - I think you'll find the granddaughter admitted that she had slept with him (and probably half the male population of the uk being as she performs in a group called the Satanic *****)
Each to their own - I love Russell Brand and find him hilarious. There are other comedians and television personalities that do nothing for me - so I just don't watch them rather than make a fuss about them and what they say.
You call everyone who likes him sad - well to be honest people who watch nature programmes come under that category for me.
What's funny to one person isn't necessarily funny to the next one - nothing appeals to everyone - thats just life. If you don't like something or someone on television - don't watch them - in much the same way as I avoid nature programmes - I personally would rather watch paint dry but as I said - each to their own!
Incidentally I've seen him both live and have read his book - both of which I loved - to me he comes across as intelligent and articulate with a silly streak that just sometimes gets him into trouble - we all ay stupid things in the heat of the moment, luckily most of us aren't being recorded when we say it.

Whenever someone/something is obnoxious on TV why are the people who are offended always told to switch off there sets if they are not happy. It would be better to sack the offensive chavs and then no-one is offended. As for not liking nature programmes I personally dont like them, but I have yet to see or hear an animal or david attenborough come out with obscene language or sexual innuendos.
Anyway perhaps now Russell Brand can find time for a bit of personal hygiene and maybe take a bath.

'Miss-taken'...need I say more..
and watching a programme about Nature makes me sad, i dont think so, I like nature and animals they are far more interesting and informative than skinny closet homosexual poofs with bad hair days...
Your one of those people who say 'errrr' when you see animals on TV.. arnt you...
I hope something venomness bites you or some rabid dog bites you.
bottome line is Russell brand is a pathetic, ugly wannabe who has never amounted to anything apart from wearing womens jeans and looking like a toilet brush so dont attempt to make him sound some one entertaining
Oh and dont bad mouth nature and animal programmes it would do your little peanut brain good to know something about the world we live in.

He got in through the back door, lets face it! By presenting BBLB which will have ANYONE present it. And I think cos he is good looking- or rather, striking looking, and he is very verbal which makes him a "good" presenter- he'll never run out of things to say. And he has that dodgy past with sex and drugs, and is faintly dangerous. That answers your question- I personally think he is a talentless irritant who does not deserve to be on TV.
I'm pretty sure (in fact certain if we're being pedantic about it) that I can't be wrong about my own opinion!
And peanut brain? Because I don't like nature programmes? I really don't think someone who doesn't know me in any way is in any position to comment how clever I am based on my TV viewing habits. In fact I would go as far to say no ones intellect can be based on TV habits!

People who don;t find Russell Brand in the least bit amusing - and i am one of them - only have to check out the newspaper ads for his stand-up tours, and note the number of 'Sold Out' stickers there are for nearly all of them.
The guy is massively popular! His Radio Two sho was attracting two million listeners, which is respectable by anyone's standards.
The BBC has a responsibility to offer entertainment to as many audience demographics as possible, and that will always mean that some people are entertained, while others are not.
I don;t find him funny, but his writing is wonderful, and you could never say he is not talented - only that his talent does not appeal, which is not the same thing at all.
