As has been mentioned before -

JR's contract salary is used to fuind his production staff who make his shows, they will still have to be paid, so yes, he will loose money.

OK, not on the same scale as you or I laid off for twelve weeks, but it is more of a gesture than anything else.

I still think the appropriate 'executive' involved should be named, shamed, and fired.

Not being allowed to host this year's Royal Variety Show is going to hurt him more

I think Wossy has got away with it he seems to be Fireproof.
If he worked in an office block and slagged off a workmate he would have been Fired. So how do the Beeb justify their decision to let him off the hook.?
