MOVIES - Previews? Pre-release?

What is it called, when a film is shown before its release date? For example, if a film is released on a friday, some cinemas show the film on the wednesday and thursday. I cannot remember what this is called, is it previews? Its on the tip of my tongue! Help!

No noo..i dont think so. i mean the ones at normal cinemas? maybe they are called previews and i;m just being slow...but im sure theres another name. thankyou though!
