everybody moans about the cost of a tv licence but does anyone out there know how much itv costs us per annum?

ITV is funded by adverts,,,, so no cost to us!

ITV's annual advertising revenue is approximately 1.5 billion pounds. There are approximately 25 million households in the UK, so that works out at about �60 per household per annum.

However, when comparing that with the cost of the licence fee you need to remember that you're not really comparing 'like with like.

That �60 pays for ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, CITV, ITV HD and Men & Motors. (More accurately, it contributes towards those services because, of course, ITV make money from selling programmes to other TV channels, both in the UK and overseas. The same is true of the BBC).

The �139.50 (colour) TV licence pays towards BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, CBBC, CBeebies, BBC News, BBC Parliament, BBC Red Button, BBC HD, Radio 1, 1 Xtra, Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio 4, Radio 5 LIve, 5 Live Sports Extra, 6 Music, Radio 7, Asian Network, Radio Scotland, Radio Wales, Radio Ulster, Radio Foyle, Radio Cumbria, Radio Newcastle, BBC Tees, Radio Lancashire, Radio Merseyside, Radio Manchester, Radio Leeds, Radio Sheffield, Radio York, Radio Humberside, Radio Lincolnshire, Radio Nottingham, Radio Leicester, Radio Derby, Radio Stoke, Radio Shropshire, BBC WM, BBC Coventry & Warwickshire, BBC Hereford & Worcester, Radio Northampton, Three Counties Radio, Radio Cambridgeshire, Radio Norfolk, Radio Suffolk, BBC Esssex, BBC London, Radio Kent, Southern Counties Radio, Radio Berkshire, Radio Oxford, Radio Solent, Radio Gloucestershire, Radio Swindon, Radio Wiltshire, Radio Bristol, BBC Somerset, Radio Devon, Radio Cornwall, Radio Guernsey, Radio Jersey and the BBC web site.

Sorry, Mr-Marvel, but I was deliberately 'forgetting' the World Service. It's funded by grant-in-aid from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and doesn't receive a penny from the licence fee.

where do the advertisers get their money? their customers
and who are their customers? us!!!!!!

If they couldn't advertise their products, they wouldn't be able to sell them - so they wouldn't produce them.
