Can anybody tell me what Mel Smith has suffered from recently ? Saw him on Celebrity Mastermind tonight and he appears to be having speech difficulties .. Has he had a stroke ? If so when ..

My first thought was that he had suffered a stroke. I knew about the overdose of painkillers, though that was back in 1999. I know he hasn't done much telly in the last few years, but I think he's been on since then with no noticeable speech problems.

i saw the programme to and his speech is sounding like he has lost the roof of his mouth and is having to speak through his nose i also thought his skin looked a bit yellow
i hope what ever it is it isnt too serious xx

People linked this to his addiction to ibuprofen in 1999. However, Griff Rhys Jones had already stated in an earlier television appearance that Smith was suffering the effects of the early stages of Parkinson�s Disease
