I watched the first episode of the new series of Spooks last night, and I just need something clearing up, as I didn't see much of the last series. What did Tom do to that American couple's daughter to put her in a mental institution and to make them riled enough to want to frame him and have him dead? Answers on a post(card) please...

Tom befriended their daughter in order to 'recruit' her as she was a student hanging out with some really nasty people MI5 wanted information on. Apparently the pressure of doing this was way too much for her leading to the frazzling of her mind. I thought it was a wicked start to the series, though i couldn't believe the stupidity of Tom when he told Christine (his bird) where his mates were planning to lure the nasty ex CIA woman to.
