How does he do it?

Anyone watch Derren Brown tonight? How on earth does he do it?! The main one i wondered about was the floating table. There looked like there was nothing at all attached to it?
And how does he know all these specific things about people yet he claims not to even pretend to be physcic?

I was wondering that too but i dont believe all that table spinning nonsense-i've watched enough of his programmes to know that he just uses illusions and mind tricks! sometimes he explains at the end how he does them but i gave up after he pretended to faint!

I felt a bit sorry for the woman he was talking to before he 'fainted', he asked if she's been wondering if she'll have kids and she sounded quote desperate when she said yes....he never answered her! LOL

o yeah its defo all illusions and mind games but isnt he amazing at them?! what was with the wierd twitch tho, wasnt sure if that was part of the trickery or just an annoying habit lol. Ive booked tickets to go watch him at manchester so i can c it beofre my eyes!

I've watched a few of his shows, but have never seen him explain anything in such a way that a) actually makes sense or b) "gives the game away"!

I love watching his programs but it frustrates me so muh when I don't know how he does it. I don't get how the pyschic answers can be illusions - why did he faint that was so annoying and that poor woman who wanted an answer. I'm not convinced by the table in the air thing - he didn't actually take the cloth right off it

There is a book called 'Great tricks Revealed' written by my uncle, Will Goldston. He worked with Houdini. They are all illusions. As DB said, you want to believe. And I do.

i reckon he hypnotises his subjects into agreeing with any statement he makes, true or not and they suggestion is still in place when they are interviewed after. Somehow the suggestion gets switched off much later, probably after they have been to sleep or summat.

Haven't seen it yet, going to watch it on catch-up.
I thoroughly recommend his book, "Tricks of the Mind". (Amazon �4.99) where he explains quite a bit about how he does what he does.

The table floating:
My thoughts are that it was an ultra lightweight table (balsa?)
If you noticed his right hand held the cloth that could have had a stick/hinge that attached to the table in, or under the cloth, and could therefore "fly" the table.
Might be way out, but it sure ain't magic.
