i think it all boils down to ratings. they feel that the potential audience is fairly low warranting a late night spot.

matt but this film is fantastic,it has kathy bates and jessica tandy starring, makes you laugh and cry and is thought provoking, if anyone wants to record it!!!
Had it been new to telly, it probably would have been on earlier, but it has been on many times before.

Channel 4 tho - bound to be repeated again soon on one of the four platforms.
One suggestion puddicat...you can get a dvd from amazon, only 2.49 (used) plus postage assuming they have dvd players....just a thought :o)
Just read what the film is about, I don't think I will bother it does not seem all that brilliant.

git think its a womans kind of film lol!!!
i was a bit guted when i saw the time as well, its a great film and i've got it on dvd cept a friend borrowed it and never gave it back!
Annoying isn't it!

I love that film, lucky I can Skyplus it.

Miss so much I've started buying a TV guide so I can go through and set recordings up for the week so I don't miss good stuff on at wierd times.
For people who work late, putting on a good film late in the evening must be a good thing. There was always complaints in the past that there was only dross on in the early hours of the night/day.
As others have said above, the film has been shown at earlier times in the past. To show the film at the same time every time that it is on is only going to reach the same audience.
By you own admission, you want people to see this great film, so why not show it at different times of the day/night to reach a wider audience.
anotheoldgit - give it a go, it's a truly great movie.
