i couldn't find the answer for this question on another message board that i looked at. Does anyone know why this message is funny? "Our Stamens are a Pistil" It was on a sign outside the Botanical Gardens in the 'Moe Baby Blues' episode.

Who said it was funny?
Unless it was R.Stamens & R.A.Pistil......
Maybe it wasn't meant to be funny, perfect flowers have stamens and a pistil.  Imperfect flowers are missing either stamens or a pistil.

It was a botany joke - the pistil and stamen are parts of a flower.  It was a pun - said out loud it sounds like "our stamens are a pistol!"

In case they don't use that phrase over in the UK, to same something is a "pistol" is saying they're over-the-top or a real firecracker.

Nope.  Still not funny.
Two different parts of a flower but in springfield the may have merged due to radiation a bit like the three eyed fish!!
