Why no comedians on Britains Got Talent?

I cant remember there being any good comedians on this show past or present.
Do you think it is because Ant and Dec do not want to be upstaged, and made to look less funny than they think they are!?

I would think it would be very hard for a comedian to make the BGT audience laugh, because they just like to see people making fools of themselves, except for 1 or 2 that are good.
Too many dancers in my opinion.

Ant and Dec are great afcjan.......or maybe I'm bias a bit as a fellow Geordie...lol

As mentioned before it is difficult to make the audience laugh and do comedy full stop. Comedy is a specific thing what one person finds funny another doesn't (or may not). To make an act to appeal to the whole or most of the audience would be difficult. Which why you get a lot of magicians and puppet masters, if the comedy falls flat on its face you've still got the skill of comanding a puppet or magic tricks to fall back on.
