Final episode of Red Dwarf

At the risk of sounding thick, can someone explain the last bit of part 3 of the new red dwarf series, I just didnt understand the ending.

And from what I CAN understand, theres gonna be no more?!?

very disappointed with the return of RD.
started poorly and got worse over the 3 episodes. trying to be far too clever for its own boots.

a perfect example of why classics should not be resurrected.

What happened was that they were attacked by a female version of the despair squid which gave them joy. They then thought that they had been taken into another dimension where they were only characters from the show and not real. When they worked out that this was not real either they chose to return to their own reality back on RD.

I actually thought it was very good. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. I certainly found it funnier than one of the later series when it all seemed to go (for me anyway) to pot.

They made references to series 9 and 10 in Back to Earth and Chris Barrie hasn't ruled out doing another series. It could be a case of watch this space...................
