Did anyone else think this was a poor attempt by the BBC at making a DocuDrama? Why did they have to ruin a perfectly good idea by trying to make it all 'Hollywood', with cheesy scripts / acting, and 'emotional' orchestral music. The only good thing about it were the special effects.

Yes it was a bit naff - especially the cheesy acting
From what I saw of it, about 5 minutes, I would agree. The BBC did the same sort of thing with Walking With Cavemen/dinosaurs. They pass off suppositions as fact.

I didn't watch it because I could see what was coming from the interminable trailers.  I assumed that it was going to be along the lines of Walking with Dinosaurs.

I think that they devise special effects, then build a programme round them.  This happens with cinema films, too.

boring, boring!  It has to be the first I`ve fallen asleep watching a programme on space. At least with the walking with dinosaur you were learning something and the special fx made it easier to absorb - epsecially for younger viewers. But what is this about? I got nothing from it except a good nights sleep. Pity. I`d been looking forward to it for ages.
