in tronights episode in the new shop doug mentioned doing the helmich manoeuvre im sure when i was on health and safety training recently i was told it is not called that anymore due to his family not wanting the name used , it is now called abdominal thrusts

I work in a the theatre department of a hospital, and when we are given our life support training this manoeuvre is referred to as abdominal thrusts.
Just like Hoover and vacuuming tho. People say they have to Hoover, but it doesn't mean they actually use a Hoover.

I'd say the soap writers should know better, but, come on, Ennerdale!
To the average soap viewer - "abdominal thrusts" sounds like a sexy dance move.
The writers probably used the old name of helmich as everyone knows it as that.
