My wife and I are watching it on bbc iplayer on our PC, because we haven't got a TV set. We think that it's an entertaining programme. As far as nudity and sex are concerned, well, I suppose it depends on how one regards that sort of thing, but, I must say, the nudity (in the bathroom) didn't amount to any more than showing bare shoulders, and the sex (when the GI had his wicked way with the young woman) was, like the nudity, merely implied. I wouldn't say that there was anything to write to the BBC about. There seems to be a bit of inaccuracy creeping in (I'm a bit picky about details). The airman who went AWOL to visit his wife was twice described by the Home Guard sergeant as an "aircraftman" (which is, or was, an official rank in the RAF), yet he wore a flight sergeant's stripes. The airman himself spoke of going on "missions", but, to a member of the RAF, only the Americans went on "missions". Our lads flew "operations". Sorry, that's how I am. Finally, did the BBC really crash that lovely old car, or was it a clever trick? For me, that is one of the saddest scenes in the series so far, but it's all very enjoyable, in spite of that.
