I really like Law and Order UK .I'm a bit taken with Bradley Walsh :)
I've been thinking about the American version .I haven't seen it as we don't have Sky or anything just the normal channels .Has anyone seen and followed it and is it worth getting on DVD .

There is Law and Order, Law and Order SVU and Law and Order Criminal Intent, gawd forbid they try to do all 3 in the UK, we could end up with Alfie Moon as a detective with a brain. No we couldn;t what am i thinking!
I quite like Bradders in it too.
The American version is superior in every way; no matter which series you are contemplating buying, and there have been lots, as well as spin-offs !! Mainly with theme tunes by Rob Dougan, which is a bonus.

I think Bradley Walsh is the best actor/role in the UK version, however the theme tune is dire :o(
mmm i quite like him too, he has certainly aged well. i've watched a few of the american ones, but its not something i've followed just caught every now and then. they show them on 5 or is it fiver - do you have freeview?

No haven't got freeview mccfluff. In fact if the wind is the wrong direction I haven't got anything :) I shall have to nag the old man about getting cable or something before the they turn us off to go digital .
Thanks for that jackthehat .I shall have a browse and probably buy one series to see what it's a like . I've been impressed with Bones .I think you may be a Bones devotee like me Dot :)
Hi Shaney - the US law and order series are excellent. SVU would be my particular favourite but they are all good. They have been going 20 years now so they are worth a look !
Question Author
Thanks peri ..Have just ordered Series 1 from Amazon . From the reviews I can see it's very popular.
SVU is Special Victims Unit as far as can see ,.is that a spin off from the main series along with Criminal Intent ? They seem to have their own series .as well
So ...should I watch them in order ,and then watch SVU and CI? I like to get to know who the characters are and their background in this sort of thing .Otherwise I get confused.
Which is nothing new :)
SVU is quite literally the proverbial dogs bits... I love it. And one of these days I'm actually going to remember to start buying the flaming box sets.
If you have a look on 'Wiki', I think it details the dates each particular branch of L&O started which may give you a pointer of how far you watch one strand before piggy-backing and watching another L&O strand start off (did that make sense !?!).

L&O: SVU is my current favourite although the subject matter is a great deal darker. And Mariska Hartigay is drop-dead gorgeous..........
Shaney - they are 3 different series all under the Law and Order banner - they have their own characters and on the odd occasion there may be a cross over but not very often. I have Hallmark and love to watch Law and order late at night

Thank you all so much for the info .Am looking forward to Series 1 when it arrives and shall no doubt be hooked and go from there
By the look of the Wiki info which I have just briefly skimmed through ( although I shall have an in depth look later ) and amount of series they've made,I'll probably be bunging it on the Christmas list for the next ten years :) I'm still ploughing through That 70's Show which I had this year :)
Cheers lovely people xx
lets know what you think Shaney - our current DVD on the go is series 2 of The Big Bang Theory - a really funny comedy!
Question Author
Will do peri ...thanks once again .Take care x
I'm a big fan of Bones shaney, I have the first 4 on dvdvd but couldn't wait for series 5 in the UK so i watch it on download when it's been screened in the US. Fid you know one of the interns, Joel Moore, is a star of the new avatar movie, he's the tall skinny one with the beard.

Hi Dot
i just love Bones .My lot have bought me all that's available on DVD and I'm now in the middle of Season 4 and up to The salt in the Wounds .I can't wait for season 5 :)
I loved The hero in the Hold where the ghost of Seeley's former army buddy got him out of trouble and they finally found out who "The Gravedigger " was .I loved it when she smacked her oné .Hahaaa...
I'm piddled of with Angela and Hodgins though .I wish they would make their minds up :) Steven Fry is great in it and that new squint Dr .Vincent Nigel Murray .I crack up when they address him by his full name all the time . It's just brilliant and David Boreanaz is soooo dishy :)
