Live Aid DVD picture problems

Didn't really know which section to put this, but no doubt AB Ed will stick it where it belongs! My wife bought me the Live Aid DVD set for Xmas. If you haven't seen it, get it. It's superb. The only thing is, I first played it on my father in law's DVD player, and noticed every time the camera does a close up shot of whoever is on stage the picture was very 'lined'. I put this down to his dodgy DVD player, but when I got home and played on my system, I got the same effect. Has anyone else noticed this with this DVD or are both our DVD players on the blink?

have no idea whatsoever about your problem at all but i have noticed that in the last 7 days since the sales have been on i have had to stand behind 2 different people in queues that were bring there live aid copies back because of some problem, not sure what it was but i found it unusual that i have seen two faulty copies and now u are saying u have a third
i was told that its because it was filmed live and thats some sort of interference so i think that everybody who got this dvd will find this problem.
I believe it's the BBC's footage that's used and even the bit that went wrong when the Who were on is also on the DVD.

Thanks everyone. I would rate you but for some reason it won't let me. Posted same question in a different category and someone answered saying they had the same problem with theirs, so must be something technically wrong with the recording. Phew, glad it's not my DVD player....
