Will makers of existing VPN's be able to offer firmware up grades to enable existing machines to record Freeview HD programs when they become available over terestial TV ?

Don't bank on it ... I think they will be incompatible.
If only it was that simple. The whole Digital Box episode has become a racket really.
Freeview, Freeview+ and now Freeview HD. Now everyone has bought their Freeview Boxes they will now need Freeview+ for recording or Freeview HD for HD reception.
It's the same with Sky. It is a different Digital Box for each facility and that is a racket in my book !!!! Duh and double Duh !!!!!
