on tonights corrie, john stapes boss(?) came round to john and fizz's house,
when john said no he couldnt go to the pub for a drink, the boss jokingly said ' i know your secret.... youre barrred!''...
now ... do you remember the advert on telly a little while ago, where someones mobile goes off in a pub, and its the landlord over at the bar saying ''your barrrred!''......?
the two fellas - johns boss on corrie and the landlord - they arent the same person are they??!

Are you talking about the "Don't Drink & Drive" ad, where the landlord does loads of different characters and voices? If so, its not the same guy. I think the actor who plays John's colleague used to in Heartbeat, but not sure.

lol yeah! thats the advert i was thinking of lol, the john smiths one, with the chap in the pub with his mate showing off his hands free blue toothy thing!
makes me smile it does.
so, are they the same fellas then? i cant picture the one in corrie at the min.
it was only when i heard him say ''ya barrrred!'' in that same way as the barman says it in the advert, that he caught my attention, and i thought hmmm, i wonder if corries snucked that one in, you know, like they sometimes do....?

i remember when i first saw peter kay in the john smith advert where he was jumping into an olympic sized swimming pool off a high diving board with serious commentary going on, do you remember that one?
well, when i fitst saw it, i didnt realise it was a send up advert lol - but i reckon it mustve been in the early days when peter kay wasnt so well known then.. !!
well thats my excuse anywa!! lol
oh by the way ... did they ever take that word 'gullible' out of the dictionary that time..?? lol

chrissa yes you're right about the John Smith ads. because a friend's daughter who played a part in the original ones had to re-audition for the part. She thought they'd ditch her for a younger model but she did get the part again.
