totally pointless observation so i apologise in advance

But ive heard that phrase at least 3 times on the telly this weekend

1. Outnumbered
2. Ashes to Ashes
3. Doctor Who

That elephant sure does get about

oddly it was used quite a bit during the general election coverage but the shows must have been recorded way before that

I don't think this twee phrase was in use during the early-mid 80's, I was surprised to hear it in Ashes to Ashes.

Also said just now on Britains Got Talent auditions, and of course, every episode of QI, where they get points for finding the elephant in the room.
Is it an Indian or an African elephant? You can tell on from t'other by the size of their ears, I believe.
