Fringe

I am a great fan of Fringe, but when I tried to watch episode 19 series 2 entitled Brown Betty, I am sorry to say I had to switch off, it must be the biggest load of garbage I have seen for years. For goodness sake have the writers lost the plot, this so far has been a wonderful series why spoil it with this kind of rubbish.

I thought there might also have been some plot clue that was important, but,if there was,it was beyond me in the pure ghastlyness of the episode!! I suppose it was an attempt at something different,but...please never go there again!!
I too am a huge fan of Fringe and was on the virge of turning off but stuck with it.
What you have to remember is that the episode was based on a story that a drug fuelled Walter was telling to Olivias niece so when the characters broke into song it was because Walter had too.
US shows often use this ploy to pad out a seasons length.

It probably made more sense in the US, where it was part of a "musical week" on Fox. Many of the shows on Fox that week had some sort of musical content/theme: http://www.movieweb.com/news/NE4d8d4bIM3F6b
I didn't think it was that bad; Broyles had a nice voice. I was disappointed that Olivia didn't wear a suitably "period" bra, though.

As I say padding is not uncommon in the U.S.
I have seen many series over the years which sometimes use the cast being all nostalgic just so they can play a 'best of' previous episodes.
it is inevitable over the course of so many episodes that some will miss the mark. i couldnt get into Fringe at all when it first started and had made my mind up to give it one more episode and I'm glad I did. Probably my favourite series even if it is stealing its main plot line from the 'his dark materials' trilogy of books i.e. an alternative universe.
Will Peter prefer Walternate? I think not.
