Scene from Office Space.

In the movie Office Space there is a scene where 3 of the main characters take a computer to wasteground and smash it to pieces with a baseball bat. Does anyone know if this scene is an original concept or is it a reference to another film?

It's purely for Office Space!!...It wasnt a computer,it was the office printer that had a nasty mind of it's own,to never work..and cause the utmost annoyance!...They had to kill it;-)

Thanks. Just the way the music was playing I thought it might have been out of something like Boyz in the Hood or something like that.
