in praise of James Corden...and Katy Perry
3 Answers
I've previously been wary of James Corden and the way in which he's mysteriously become the lighht entertainment face of English football. But I have to say I've not only enbjoyed his World Cup Live series on ITV1 and ITV4, but I've been incredibly impressed at the way he's held such a difficulty programme together. Okay, so he's relied quite heavily on cue cards, but he's had many roles within one live show and carried them all off with great distinction. His obviously unscripted comments and quips have been spot-on, and i've grown to really like him.
My favourite of Corden's guests on the series so far has been Katy Perry, and I also enjoyed her on Graham Norton last night. What a terrific, bright character she is - a true breath of fresh air in the packaged world of pop. No wonder Russell Brand has mended his ways to devote himself to her.
So there we are. i just wanted to salute these two celebs who i feel deserve more credit than they get. and of course i'm now interested to see your opinions.
